ROMANIA / Bucharest / 23 July 2010 / The freshly dug grave of Nicolae Ceausescu in Ghencea Cemetery in Bucharest. Scientists exhumed the remains of both dictator Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife after a request from their family who for years have doubted that they were really buried there. The Ceausescus were executed following a show trial on 25 December 1989 during The Romanian Revolution and were quickly buried in unmarked graves in the military cemetery. On Wednesday, 21 July the graves were dug up and DNA samples were taken for testing. The location of the Ceausescus is one of the many mysteries that still surround the events of the Revolution. © Davin Ellicson / Anzenberger
